ANIMATION OF THE DAY: We asked for it: Taiwanese talent takes on 'Obama's Wars' [UPDATED]
Well, I suppose we all but asked for such treatment.
Several weeks back, Comic Riffs wrote of the Taiwanese talent that is Next Media Animation: "We're on high alert: Now, apparently, no American newspaper is safe from these animators' slings and arrows."
Now, in the form of an animation about Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward's new book, "Obama's Wars," come those pixilated slings and arrows.
This month, NMA's artists satirized the newspaper wars in New York. How long till D.C. was next in their sights? Today, our sister operation Slate points us to the digital dramatization of Woodward's writings -- with certain creative embellishments, natch, like Obama getting slapped with the book and unwillingly turning the other cheek.
As always, the campy events make for some surreal CGI.
Thanks, Next Media. We can only hope you'll soon share your secrets with Comic Riffs. That's an open invitation to talk shop here. Just -- please -- put down those satiric little Wacom mouses when you enter.
