Thursday I Have Fry-Day on My Mind
Another turkey has landed! From outside Lake Tahoe comes this crispy critter. Writes a reader named Stacy: "I married a guy that is known for his fried chicken, hence we own a 30 qt. turkey fryer named 'the Bayou' and we have perfected the fried turkey seen here!"

Mmmm. To paraphrase CCR: "born in the Bayou." Is there nothing that can't be improved by immersion in boiling oil?
I may not have received a flood of turkey pictures, but we made up in quality what we lacked in quantity. And talk about variety: from meatless Tofurkey to deep-fried bird. Thanks to those of you who participated. It gives me faith to maybe ask for Christmas tree photos in a few weeks.
Where in Washington: Week 6
A bit of a change this week. Anyone know what is depicted in this old postcard (from the collection of David Stinson)?

Send your guess to kellyj@washpost.com. The first correct entry I receive will win a postcard autographed by a Washington Post Pulitzer prize winner.
