I Am a Camera: Some Random Shots
I love libraries, I swear. Despite what my last two columns might have implied, I have great respect for librarians.
Still, I thought it was rather ironic that when I went by the Silver Spring Library the other morning -- one of two branches where Montgomery County tested its new stamp-less overdue system -- this is what the sign looked like:

Biblio-terrorists? No. I was told a Park Police officer in his cruiser had to swerve to avoid a pedestrian in the middle of Colesville Road. No one was hurt -- besides the sign, that is.
Cab Art
Here's the view from the back seat of a taxi I took yesterday (to a screening of "State of Play" -- I recommend it):

The driver -- or someone -- had created a little "no smoking" symbol out of red tape. Crude but effective.
Don't forget that I want your Washington-area photos -- of letters, numbers and symbols, specifically.
