Photo Flashback: Your turn
I'm not posting a photo from our archives today. I need to dive into The Post photo morgue to replenish my stock. But I had an idea: Why don't you send me yours?
If you have a neat old photo of something from the Washington area, e-mail it to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. (Put "Photo" and some identifier in the subject line, ie, "Photo--Capital Center.")
I'm looking for images that give a sense of place, photos that tell us a little about life as it used to be lived in Washington. Your photos can include people, of course, but I want pictures that can only have been taken around here: D.C.-area attractions, restaurants, nightclubs, parks, streets, buildings, etc.
How old should they be? At least 20 years, I should think--old enough that when you look at them it's clear they're from an earlier time.
So pull out those scrapbooks and get scanning. I plan to post my favorites on "John Kelly's Commons."
