Did Chinese TV actually use Top Gun footage as a military drill?
ForeignPolicy.com is now reporting that Chinese bloggers caught the CCTV repurposing footage of Top Gun for a story on a recent military drill.
This is as hilariously absurd as it is probable.
This is what happens when you feel the need, the need for, uh, footage.
I can't come up with any jokes that are better than this is already. Judge the photos for yourself. If these are actual screen caps, the only thing that would be more obviously taken from Top Gun would be if this were an extended sequence of longing gazes between Val Kilmer and Tom Cruise.
