Va. indecent exposure investigated
Several women have reported that a man has exposed himself to them as they walked along bike paths in the west end of Alexandria in recent weeks, and police are investigating whether the incidents are linked.
It started March 16 around 5 p.m. when a woman walking on the bike path in the 4000 block of Eisenhower Avenue heard a man call out, police said.
When the woman turned, he was exposing himself. The man disappeared into the woods, and the woman called police.
Four other reported cases have been similar. The next occurred Tuesday, April 20, at about 4:00 p.m. along the bike path in the 4100 block of Eisenhower Avenue. On April 27, the victim was on a path in the 4500 block of Holmes Run Parkway.
The evening of Monday, May 3, and then again the evening of June 7, similar exposures were reported by women on the Duke Street/Holmes Run Park bike path.
The suspect has been described as white or hispanic, 20-30 years old, five feet six inches to six feet two inches tall, weighing 150 to 160 pounds with reddish or light brown hair.
Police ask that anyone who has seen a man matching that description or has information about these incidents call the Alexandria Police Criminal Investigations Section (703)838-4711 or the Crime Solvers tip line at (703) 838-4858. Witnesses can remain anonymous.
