Woman, daughter found dead in Alexandria
A 27-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter were found dead Sunday in an Alexandria apartment house, police said.
Alexandria officers said they were seeking the girl's father in connection with the deaths.
Police said the girl and the woman, Seble G. Tessema, were found in a building in the 300 block of South Reynolds Street about 10 a.m. by officers who had responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
In a news release, officers gave no cause for the deaths but called them suspicious. They said they had identified Simon B. Asfeha, 34, as a "suspect" and said he was wanted for first-degree murder.
Police said that he had a prior relationship with the woman and that he was the child's father.

Has the suspect been found yet? It's such a sad day when a woman and child are brutally murdered (as I understand it, their throats were slashed) and it merits the barest of blips in the newspaper.
