Arrest in Anne Arundel tavern shooting

Anne Arundel police have made an arrest in Saturday's homicide at Dietrich's Tavern in Glen Burnie.

Kelly Terrell Fisher, 30, of Glen Burnie was killed at about 12:15 a.m. when a man got out of a car with a rifle and shot him in the 7300 block of Furnace Branch Road.

Police believe Fisher was targeted and knew his killer.

Homicide detectives arrested Clayton Avila Battle, 33, of Glen Burnie on Saturday night.

Battle was charged with first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, possession of a deadly weapon with the intent to injure and possession of a concealed deadly weapon, police said.

My father, a retired DC homicide detective, tells the story of a new detective calling in from the scene of a shooting. When asked where the victim was shot, he replied between the living and dining rooms, thereby incurring great wrath from his captain.

Pretty sure that was my Bridge partner at the last Tuesday bingo and Lady's win evening at the Redeemer Church. He wasn't much at bridge..said he preferred poker or something like that.
