D.C. police investigate homicide in SE

Update, 12 noon: Police identified the victim as 30-year-old James Pone of Southeast DC

District detectives are investigating a homicide in Southeast D.C.
Officers found the body of a male about 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of Brandywine Street SE.
Police said they will have more information to release soon.

I thought I heard Chief Cathy Lanier responding heading to this murder on my scanner last night. Sounded like her voice. (Is she "Cruiser 1"?)
She asked for a landline when she got there.
Anyway, is it normal for her to go to a murder like this, or does her presence mean it's something more than average?
