Fairfax teenager cut on her way to school

Washington Post editors

A 17-year-old was cut across her face this morning during a confrontation as she walked to Annandale High, Fairfax police said.

It happened at 6:50 a.m. in the 4400 block of Elan Place in Annandale. The victim told police she thought she was attacked with a knife, but investigators did not find a weapon at the scene.

"The victim and the assailants knew each other," said police spokesman Don Gotthardt. "It was not a random act."

Gotthardt said police are looking for two men in their early 20s wearing dark clothing in connection with the case.

Terrible. I wonder if this was gang-related.

This article is vague to the point of seeming to be a deliberate attempt to obscure the facts. If WaPo wrote: "Girl was nearly abducted by aliens; Tall thin men in saucer suspected." imagine the outcry at the banalness of the writing.

Its criminal what Fairfax County has allowed Annandale and especially AHS to become, all in the name of political correctness.

Ejofre: What has Annandale become?

Posted by: Baltimore137 | February 23, 2010 3:55 PM | Report abuse

Annandale has become a terrible place, the teenagers and young adults in this area feel they have something to prove. This need to prove themselves makes these "children" more dangerous then full fledge criminals. It is so sad that this area is turning into the stabbing, killing, robbing and brutal property destruction capital of the washington area. i call annandale home, but i triple lock my doors, keep a gun under my bed and never let my children play outside by themselves. What a life!! The American Dream!!

This bad thing happened in a good neighborhood, which is true with a lot of crime in our country. Annandale is a great place to live. The police have been out all day trying to find who did this. And, violence against women does not happen "only in America". On the contrary, it is not legally allowed to happen here.
