Parents of dead Md. boy beaten by other teens sue their parents, school board
The parents of a Maryland teenager who died last year after being attacked by other teens have filed a lawsuit against the parents of kids who beat him and the Anne Arundel County school board.
Fourteen-year-old Christopher Jones was riding his bicycle home last May when he was surrounded by a group of youths and beaten. He fell to the ground and hit his head, an injury that proved fatal.
Two teens were convicted of manslaughter in Jones' death.
The lawsuit is against the school board, the parents of the two teens who struck Jones and the parents of the three juveniles and one 18-year-old who the lawsuit says egged them on.
The lawsuit seeks $10 million from the parents and $200,000 from the school board.
