Pilot killed in Md. small plane crash was Annapolis man
Maryland State Police are identifying the man killed when a single-engine plane crashed in Edgewater.
Authorities say 53-year-old Joseph Luther Kelly III of Annapolis was the only person on board the Beechcraft Bonanza P35 on Saturday when it crashed near Lee Airport.
Airport manager Van Lee says the plane suddenly banked to the right and struck trees before crashing about a quarter of a mile from the airport.
National Transportation Safety Board spokesman Terry Williams says the federal agency will investigate the crash.
