Three dead in Anne Arundel head-on collision
A woman and two men died Wednesday night in a head-on collision in Severn, Anne Arundel police said Friday.
Jessica L. Ray, 26, was driving northbound on Donaldson Avenue near Walnut Grove Road when she crossed into oncoming traffic at around 10:36 p.m., according to a police press release. Her Ford F-150 collided head-on with a Ford Expedition heading south, police said.
The Expedition caught fire upon impact, according to police, and was on fire when emergency vehicles arrived.
Ray was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the Expedition, Preston A. Matthews, 57, of Hanover, and a passenger, Curtis L. Matthews, 60, were trapped in the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. The men were not related, police said.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
