Arlington police seek men who robbed armored car
Arlington County police are searching for two men who robbed an armored car guard Friday, escaping with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The robbery occurred at about 1 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Bell Street, when one of the men sprayed an undetermined type of liquid in the guard’s face and grabbed a bag of money from his hand, police said.
The robber then jumped in a car driven by another man and the two sped away, police said.
Police urged anyone with information about the robbery to call the department’s tip line at (703) 228-4242 or Det. Kevin Norwood at (703) 228-4194. Det. Norwood can also be reached by e-mail.
Witnesses can also call the department’s Crime Solvers number, 866-411-TIPS (8477). Crime Solvers offers a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Callers to Crime Solvers do not have to give their names and do not need to testify in court.
