Fredericksburg taxi driver dies after Friday crash in Arlington

A taxi driver has died after a single-car accident in Arlington on Friday, according to authorities.

Driver George E. Woytach, 62, of Fredericksburg, was headed east on N. 10th St. at N. Highland St. when he crossed into the westbound lanes at around 3:30 p.m., according to an Arlington police press release.

Woytach's car continued into a tree, police said. Woytach was transported to an area hospital, where he died Tuesday night.

A preliminary investigation indicates that the crash was caused by a "medical issue," police said.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Detective Michael Austin at (703) 228-4241.
