Arrest in Pa. killing of Pr. George's man
Police in eastern Pennsylvania have arrested a man on murder charges in a speakeasy shooting that killed a Maryland man.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jose Bonilla-Ortiz was arrested Monday in last year’s shooting at an underground club in Reading, about 50 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
Police say Bonilla-Ortiz fired the shots that killed 28-year-old Richard Gonzalez, of Prince George’s County, Md., on November 8. A grand jury indicted Bonilla-Ortiz after hearing the case in April.
Police say three guns fired at least 25 shots in the melee. Six people were wounded in the exchange of gunfire.
The Reading Eagle reports Bonilla-Ortiz was arraigned and sent to Berks County Prison without bail. It was not clear if he had an attorney.
