Arrest in woman's 1964 Va. murder

Authorities say a 77-year-old man has been arrested in Las Vegas on a fugitive warrant in the December 1964 slaying of his then-wife in Virginia.

Records show that Donald James Long was being held Monday at the Clark County jail pending an extradition hearing Tuesday before a Las Vegas judge.

Officials say Long was indicted recently by a grand jury in Virginia, and a warrant was issued in the strangulation of 30-year-old Naomi Fulcher Long in Hopewell, Va. Her body was found in her apartment.

Donald Long was arrested Friday by members of a U.S. Marshals fugitive task force.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal said records showed Long has lived in southern Nevada since the early 1990s.
