D.C. man, 20, killed in N.Y. crash
A 20-year-old District man was killed in a Thursday night crash in Central Islip, N.Y., police said.
Benjamin Cecil, a New York Institute of Technology student, was hit by a car while crossing the street around 6:25 p.m., the Suffolk County Police Department said in a Thursday press release.
The car that hit him had a green light, witnesses told police.
Cecil was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where he died around 8:44 p.m. The driver of the car was not injured.
Police continue to investigate the crash.
