'Thong thief' had 79 pairs in his possession, police say

A Michigan State University student who was arrested recently was found with 79 pairs of stolen thong panties in his room, according to this report:

The man's arrest last week brought to a close the case of the thong thief, which campus police had been investigating since March 22, when it was reported that someone had swiped 15 pairs of panties from the basement laundry room at West Akers Hall, Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
"The original victim was an 18-year-old student who reported that someone had stolen her panties from the dryer," Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
The alleged thong thief was arrested after he went back to the scene of the crime on April 7, and another student saw him stealing underwear from a dryer.
