Woman attempts bank robbery feet from police officer
An Ohio woman tried to rob a bank just feed away from a uniformed police officer who was there to make a personal transaction, according to this report:
"He's standing in line, waiting for his turn," said FBI Special Agent Harry Trombitas. "He's certainly not focused in on what she's doing. There was no yelling or screaming."
When [Lois J.] Harvey noticed the officer, she grabbed the note and hurried out of the bank, Trombitas said.
As the officer approached the counter, employees told him a woman had just tried to rob the bank.
"They all pointed, and the lady was still standing on the corner," said Columbus robbery detective Lowell Smittle. "He went outside and made the apprehension without incident."
