Man charged with killing, eating cheetah
A man in Swaziland has been charged with breaking game laws after he killed and ate a cheetah, according to this report:
Solomon Maziya was arrested and charged for contravening the Game Act.
Yesterday he appeared at the Magistrate Court together with four of his co-accused; Comfort Ngwenya, Senzo Fakudze, Bonginkosi Dlamini and Cosmo Tsile. Maziya said the cheetah had been terrorising his livestock and killed 10 of his 14 goats.
“What could I do? I had reported the matter to the police to kill the animal as it was eating my goats and dogs but they never showed up. I was left with no option but to kill it and eat it with my family,” said Maziya.
