Baltimore man charged with impersonating officer, assaulting woman
Baltimore County police have arrested a man say they impersonated an officer and sexually assaulted a woman he pulled over.
Thirty-seven-year-old Dennis McLaughlin Jr. was arrested Thursday. He is charged with fourth-degree sex offense, false imprisonment and impersonating a police officer.
Police say on Thursday morning, two people were in a car when McLaughlin pulled behind them with front and rear dash flashing blue lights. Authorities say he identified himself as a police officer and asked the driver for identification, while ordering the other person to leave.
Police say McLaughlin told the woman to sit in his car and he began to fondle her. The woman escaped to her own car and fled the area before calling police.
