Baltimore officer's father killed as suspects flee police
Baltimore police say two drug suspects fleeing police in a car collided with another vehicle and killed one of the occupants, the father of a police officer.
It happened about 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday in northwest Baltimore. A police spokesman says plainclothes officers saw a drug transaction take place and approached the vehicle two men were in. The vehicle took off and the officers lost sight of it.
The suspects' vehicle collided with another vehicle. Two people in the second vehicle were taken to Shock Trauma. Eighty-eight-year-old Albert David, the father of a Baltimore patrol officer, died.
Two men have been arrested but not formally charged. The spokesman says 38 grams of heroin were found in their car.
