Baltimore police officer shot
Police say three people will likely face charges after the shooting of a Baltimore police officer.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the officer was shot in the chest early Saturday as he approached someone who appeared to be armed. The officer is expected to recover.
Police commissioner Frederick H. Bealefeld says the suspect ran away and exchanged gunfire with other officers. The suspect was shot in the leg.
Guglielmi says the man made it to a car but crashed it up the road. Then he got into another car with at least two other suspects and was later arrested at a hospital where he was seeking treatment.
Guglielmi says the man will be charged when he is released from the hospital. Two others will likely be charged as accomplices.
