Doctor shot in Md. out of hospital
A Johns Hopkins Hospital doctor who was shot by a patient’s son has been released from the hospital.
Hospital spokeswoman Stephanie Desmon says 45-year-old Dr. David Cohen of Cockeysville went home Monday evening. Cohen was shot in the abdomen on Sept. 16.
Police say the gunman, 50-year-old Paul Warren Pardus, became distraught after Cohen delivered news of his mother’s condition. After shooting the doctor, police say Pardus shot and killed his mother, then himself.
Cohen had to undergo surgery and then spent the last 10 days recovering.
The family has said they are appreciative of the outpouring of support and concern they have received.
