Md. woman charged with paying man to kill husband
A Baltimore County woman is in jail on charges she paid a man $9,000 to kill her husband at his gas station.
Karla Porter is also accused of enlisting four other people, including her sister, in the plot.
The 47-year-old Porter was among six people arrested Saturday. She was still jailed Monday.
William “Ray” Porter was shot last Monday inside the gas station he had owned for 15 years and died the next day.
Charging documents say Karla Porter used her cell phone to lure her husband to the gas station at 3 a.m. She then called a man named as Walter Bishop, who drove to the gas station with several others. The charging documents say that Bishop shot Porter.
The Baltimore County pretrial service says Porter and Bishop do not yet have lawyers.
