Officer shoots Balt. robbery suspect

Police say an officer shot and wounded a suspect in a store robbery in the eastern part of Baltimore.

Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the officer was approached around 8:30 p.m. Sunday and told that a nearby store was being robbed by three armed suspects.

When the officer approached the three, they tried to flee. He ordered them to stop.

Guglielmi says one of the suspects threatened the officer, and the officer fired. One of the suspects was struck in the upper body, and the other two fled.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital. Guglielmi didn’t have his condition.

No other injuries at the store were reported.
