Md. boy, 16, dies in Sunday Prince Frederick motorcycle accident
A Lexington Park teenager was killed Sunday after he crashed a motorcycle into a tree in Prince Frederick, authorities said.
Quamaine Shavazz Harris, 16, was riding a 2000 Yamaha YZ80 off-road motorcycle south on the gravel portion of Mason Road when he approached a slight hill and curve and lost control of the bike, according to a press release from the Calvert County Sheriff's Office.
The motorcycle skidded and ran into a tree, authorities said. Harris was ejected and ran into the same tree, and ended up with the motorcycle on top of his body, authorities said.
Harris, who authorities said was not wearing any protective equipment, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The crash occurred just after 6 p.m.
