Seventh man arrested in connection with Waldorf gang rape

Charles County authorities have arrested an additional suspect and identified three others in the March 16 sexual assault of a woman in Waldorf.

Last week in Newark, N. J. police arrested Jose Maria Echebarria, 30, of Waldorf in connection with the assault. Police have also identified three other suspects, Jose Santos Portillo, 25, Balmoris Argueta, 26, and Lionicio Argueta, 29.

Police said 10 men were involved in the attack, seven of whom have already been arrested and charged. Police are also working with officers from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

“This was a brutal attack and we are absolutely committed to bringing justice to the victim,” said Sheriff Rex W. Coffey said in a statement.

Aaaahhhh the polocy of open borders is coming to fruition. What's wrong with a little south of the border culture? Isn't globalization wonderful?

Thankyou O'Malley and Leggitt for your part in keeping Maryland safe?

It's sad this some of this Latino's think that they can just do anything to women and get away with it. And then give your other hard Latino's a bad name. This freaks have been around for years and it all started in Adams Morgan/Mt Pleasant Street, nasty dogs,,why have a trial. This area takes on to much of this non sense if they are not citizens treat them like they will treat us in their country. Every week someone is getting rape..by this nasty men..

It's atrocious act when one person rapes another, but 10 men raping one women is even more heinous! If our government doesn't get serious about stopping illegal immigration and deporting illegal aliens, other than granting amnesty, we are going to be in a great deal more trouble and see more and more occurences such as this one! These people seemingly have no consciences!

We don't need O'Malley or Leggitt in Southern Maryland, we got Charles County finest. Keep up the good work Sheriff Coffey. You better bet if you come down in Charles County and think for a moment you are going to do a crime and get away with it think again! You will get caught and will not get a slap on the wrist. I love my Sheriff and his boys, Charles county finest!

Whatever your stance on immigratino is, you have to admit, in following multiple crime reports over the last few years, latin american illegal immigrants do commit some pretty horrific crimes.

Animals that cannot behave in society should be put in a cage or even better, put down. Animals is what they are.

What is wrong with you people, why is their ethnicity all you get out of this article? There have been 50 similar crimes this month around dc, all committed by AMERICANS, born and bred. Heinous crime goes beyond birthplace, get a grip people. Maybe if they were afforded opportunities other than hiding from the law, they wouldn't be committing these crimes. But noooo lets just kick them out and close all of our borders, it will definitely work and be implementable. Thats what the REAL America is all about, right? All of you need to go read the Statue of Liberty and maybe a few dozen history books.

It's important because there is a real, systemic problem with some immigrants from Latin American countries. There appears to be a true problem, a cultural flaw that makes rape and other sex crimes (and many crimes in general) not seem like such a big deal. It needs to be addressed; we can't just pretend it's not an issue.

It might be tempting to just throw your hands up and either cry: 1. close the borders; or 2. immediately squelch discussion by uttering "racist!" but that does everyone a great disservice.

Hey grammar books you need to look at your paycheck and open your eyes, go to Arlington Cementary and think about all the men and women that payed the ultimate price so our citizens can live free and not have to fear anything thing. We cant let these illegals ruin our Great Nation, if you want to live third world then head across the border. That young lady did not go out and asked to be raped, she could have been your sister, wife, girlfriend or mother. We should hang all of them and leave them hanging at border crossings. maybe you should join them too MORON

All we need is a stout rope, a tall tree with a strong limb, and the wall nuts to hang the SOB'S for this BS !!!!!!!!

Go get them Frank I agree 100% !!!! To Grammar Books: I can only hope that illegal alien crime touches you in some way, maybe then you will wise up and take a good look at just what is happening in OUR Country!!!

qardaaj -
You are absolutely right. Coffey has been the best sheriff we've had in years. His men are the finest and he's got my vote - again

Posted by: waterfrontproperty | April 6, 2010 8:13 PM | Report abuse

needgrammarschool - Yes, Citizens do commit crimes but if our National Borders were Secured and our current Immigration Laws were Enforced then our Nation would not have be concerned about the additional crimes of the ILLEGALS and not have to utilize our resources in "fighting" the crimes created by the ILLEGALS. Even more serious, at least in my opinion, than the Economic Crimes is the fact that Our FAMILIES are at the mercy of ILLEGALS and their Anchors being murdered, raped, infected with disease, or robbed. We can see the results of the ILLEGAL invasion in our courts every day! But NOT to worry the Chamber of Commerce will get their cheap labor increasing their privatized PROFITS while socializing the benefits for their ILLEGALS on the back of U. S. Citizens, thanks to our past and current Presidents, the Congressional Leadership(?), and local elected and appointed officials!

These scumbag illegals should be shot and killed immediately. Their leading export is crime, doing the jobs that no one else wants to do, lol.
