1 dead, 1 hurt in D.C. shooting

A man shot in Southeast Washington Tuesday night has died, D.C. police said.

The victim was identified as Mitchell Bell, 30, of Fairfax, Va.

A second man was critically wounded, said Officer Paul Metcalf, a police spokesman. Police declined to release age or any other information about him.

Officers were called to the 4600 block of A Street after residents reported the sound of more than a half dozen gunshots about 8:45 p.m., said Metcalf.
