Man fatally shot in Prince George's

By Clarence Williams

A man was shot and killed Thursday night in the Palmer Park area of Prince George's County, police said.

About 8:40 p.m., county police were called for the sounds of gunshots in the 7700 block of Oxman Road, said Cpl. Erica Johnson, a police spokeswoman.

A man was found on the ground. He was pronounced dead on the scene, Johnson said. Police identified the man Friday as 24-year-old Lamar Anthony Featherston, who lived in the 7800 block of Oxman Road.

The shooting happened near the Parkview Baptist Church, also on Oxman Road, but police said it didn't appear that the incident was connected in any way with the church, Johnson said.
