Man shot, killed in Silver Spring
A man who was shot in Silver Spring on Thursday night has died, Montgomery County police said early Friday.
They identified the victim as Hamilton Luis Rabanales, 25, of the 2100 block of Dexter Avenue in Silver Spring. Police earlier had given his age as 26.
A police statement said that just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Rabanales was with a group of people outside a residence in the 10100 block of Georgia Avenue "when he was assaulted and collapsed."
Police found "the victim suffering from a trauma." He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Detectives are investigating Rabanales's death as a homicide, the statement said.
