Shooting during possible robbery attempt

By Washington Post Editors

A man was grazed in the head by a bullet Thursday afternoon, possibly during a robbery attempt on a Northeast Washington street, D.C. police said.

Officers responded to the 300 block of V Street NE and found the victim conscious and breathing about 2:50 p.m., said Officer Hugh Carew, a police spokesman.

The victim was taken to a hospital.

Police are investigating the incident as a possible robbery attempt and were searching for evidence in a nearby alley, Carew said.

No suspect information was immediately available.
