Snow puts early end to weekend traffic enforcement
The Virginia State Police planned two days of inceased traffic enforcement on Interstate 66 for Friday and Saturday, but the snow restricted the effort to the first day.
On Friday, troopers cited 149 drivers for speeding, 40 for reckless driving and 15 for safety belt violations.
If police had not called off the blitz on Saturday, it appears almost certain that many more motorists would have found themselves with tickets in their pockets.
