Two men exchanged gunfire in Manassas Thursday night, leaving one dead, officials said Friday morning. The other is expected to survive.

About 9:20, the men fired at each other in the area of Stonington Lane and Emerald Drive, according to initial investigation results.

William Henry Welch III, 29, of Leesburg, was pronounced dead on the scene. The survivor, who was not named, was a 22-year-old Manassas man.

The men knew each other, police said.

The other suffered non-life threatening injuries, said a spokesman for the Prince William County Police Department.

Is this all? Surely there must be more details than this! WAPO always have the details of shootings in MD and DC. Is it drug related, over a woman or speed bump?
