Montgomery County crime totals continue to fall

Montgomery County police today announced that crime fell 4.1% in the third quarter compared with the same period a year ago.
For the first nine months of 2009, crime is down 4.7%. One particularly large drop has been auto thefts, which fell 31.9% from 1,803 to 1,228.

The number of murders and the drop exactly the same in Montgomery and Fairfax counties for first 9 months of the year:
10 murders both counties first 9 months '09.
13 murders both counties 2008, 9 months.
For DC and Prince George's...oh, never mind.
