Man dies in single-car Va. crash

An 18-year-old Fairfax man died in a single-car accident Tuesday night, Fairfax County Police announced Wednesday.

Officers were called to the area of Compton Road and Luton Hill Way around 9:26 p.m., police said.

An investigation determined that the driver of a 2002 Subaru WRX heading north on Compton Road at high speed lost control of the car, according to police. After crossing into the path of an oncoming car in the southbound lane, police said, the Subaru left the roadway, hitting a tree.

The driver, Benjamin Sarley, of the 5600 block of Hampton Forest Way, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Two male passengers were taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

All three were wearing seatbelts, police said.

Subaru WRX and an 18 year old male do not mix. Hopefully, some of his organs were salvageable for transplant purposes.
