Man sought in four D.C. robberies

D.C. Police are looking for one man in connection with four recent daytime shop robberies.

A light-skinned black male between 30 and 40 years old, standing between 5-feet-6 and 6 feet and weighing perhaps 150 to 160 pounds is the suspect believed responsible for all four Northwest D.C. robberies, according to a Wednesday press release.

He wore a yellow, patterned polo-style, shirt, blue jean shorts, a dark baseball cap and oversized aviator-style sunglasses in the latest robbery, police said. It took place at a business in the 1600 block of U St. NW around 1 p.m. on Tuesday, according to police, when he got away with cash after brandishing a silver-colored handgun.

The previous robberies took place on July 1 at 12:45 p.m. at the Pet Mac Store in the 4200 block of Fessenden St., NW, and on June 30 when, police said, he robbed both the Rita's in the 1700 block of Florida Ave. NW and the Doggy Style Boutique in the 1800 block of 18th St. NW early in the afternoon.

In each of the earlier three robberies, police said, the suspect wore a fishing-style hat, blue jeans and the aviator-style sunglasses.

Police ask anyone with information to call (202)727-9099 or 1-888-919-CRIM[E] (1-888-919-2746).

A pet shop is more important that any other store? Theft is theft. The world is going to hell in a hand basket and people want to keep working for animals instead of working to help people. If you don't work to help people animals will not matter. Plus I'm not an animal lover, I'm a people lover. Get you animals crap of my lawn.

There might be a reason, he is targeting pet shops. He could've lost a pet or maybe he just hates them. I own a pet, and I was surprise to see he's targeting pet shops for what every reason. Well we all know the real reason for any robbery is the money, but it might be a deeper issue going on with this dude, just like anyone who has the ballls to rob anything!!! Dude whatever it is let it go...I know times are hard but there is another way to get money!!!
