Man called in hit on ex-girlfriend: Police

A Maryland man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder after St. Mary's County police accused him of entering into discussions to have his ex-girlfriend killed.

Investigators recorded telephone conversations indicating that Oliver G. Malone, 32, of Hollywood, was "in the planning stages of causing harm to the victim," according to a statement released Monday by the St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

He had also agreed to provide a photograph of the woman to another person, police said.

Malone was arrested and is being held pending a bond hearing.

The amount of money Malone was to pay for the killing is unknown, police said.
