Man caught with crack cocaine while hospitalized for shooting
Tuesday will not go down as one of Tyrone D. Herring's better days.
The 45-year-old was rushed to Howard University Hospital after being wounded in a double shooting in Southeast Washington, according to police reports and court records.
At the hospital, technicians cut away his pants and found a large bag containing what turned out to be 31.4 grams of crack cocaine, enough to get Herring arrested on federal charges of possessing with the intent to distribute the drug, police wrote in court papers.
There was no word on Herring’s medical condition. A police department spokesman said she would check to see if he had been released from the hospital.
Another man, 40-year-old Arvell Stewart Alston of Temple Hills, was killed in the gunfire, police have said.

Haha. Tyrone Herring gets shot, then busted for a large amount of crack.
So funny.
