Sexual assaults in Annandale

Fairfax County sex crimes detectives are investigating three incidents in which a man grabbed or inappropriately touched women after quickly approaching them at night as they walked in the Avant Apartment Complex in Annandale.

At about 10 p.m. on May 9, a 25-year-old woman walking through a common area of a building in the 4500 block of John Tyler Court was assaulted, police said. When she screamed, the suspect fled.

The second and third incidents occurred June 6. At about 3 a.m., a 23-year-old woman in a common area of another building in the 4500 block of John Tyler Court was approached by a man, who grabbed her before fleeing. Within an hour, an 18-year-old woman walking to a building in the 7900 block of Charles Thomson Lane was assaulted by a man who quickly approached, then ran when friends came to help her.

None of the victims required medical attention, police said.
