Fairfax apartment fire displaces 16
Eleven adults and five children have been displaced from their Kingstowne area apartments after a Tuesday night fire.
No one was injured in the blaze, which started in the basement of the Elms at Kingstowne apartment building on Rock Cliff Lane around 9 p.m.
Fairfax County fire officials said the fire started when water leaked into an electric panel in a utility room. There was some fire damage to adjacent apartments.
People living in 14 apartments can't immediately return safely to their homes. The Red Cross is helping those families.
