Fairfax man killed in motorcycle crash

A Fairfax County man was killed Wednesday night when his motorcycle crashed into a pickup truck in the Baileys Crossroads area, Fairfax police said Friday.

Police said Christopher Hamilton, 25, was driving a 2009 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Leesburg Pike, just past the intersection with Columbia Pike in the Baileys Crossroads area. About 10:10 p.m., police said, a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup pulled out of Gorham Street to turn left onto Leesburg Pike.

The motorcycle slammed into the pickup truck. Hamilton, who lived in the 3800 block of Powell Lane in the Baileys Crossroads area, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 25-year-old man, was not hurt.

Police are still investigating whether speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. No charges were filed.
