Fairfax woman dies from Friday morning crash injuries
A Fairfax County woman who was in a one-car crash in the Mason Neck area on Friday morning died on Sunday, Fairfax County police said.
Police said Julie Anne Cahill, 34, of the 11300 block of River Road in Lorton, was driving her 2005 Honda Civic. Shortly before 11 a.m., as she drove in the 9900 block of Gunston Road, just east of Route 1, Cahill apparently lost control of the Civic, crossed the double yellow line, ran off the road and struck a tree, police said.
Cahill was taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 10:48 p.m. Sunday.
Police said alcohol appeared to have been a factor in the crash, but a police spokeswoman said she did not have any further details.
