Fairfax police investigating body found in pond
Fairfax County police are awaiting the results of an autopsy on a body that was found in a pond in the Alexandria section of the county Thursday afternoon.
A person walking by the pond in the 8300 block of Pondside Terrace noticed something suspicious in the water at about 4:15 p.m. Thursday, a county police spokeswoman said.
The passerby called authorities, who responded and found a body, the spokeswoman said.
Authorities did not immediately release the body's gender.
