Search continues for missing boater
Fairfax County police said they are continuing a search for a 64-year-old Lorton woman who went rowing Saturday in the Occoquan Reservoir and didn't return.
The woman, Julia Shew, is a member of the Occoquan Boat Club, friends said.
A club official said Shew left the Sandy Run rowing facility about 11 a.m.
Police said it was noticed when she didn't return by 5 p.m., and someone went to look for her.
Shew's capsized scull was found near Fountainhead Regional Park, police said.
Fairfax County Police searched over the weekend and yesterday. They said a scaled-back search will continue Tuesday, and will include a police helicopter, Marine Patrol and divers.
