Thief targets Va. town hall artwork

Fairfax City's historic Old Town Hall was targeted by a thief who swiped three paintings by local artists, police said Wednesday.

Fairfax City police said the facilities coordinator at the hall, located at 3999 University Drive, reported the thefts Aug. 16.

They occurred sometime after Aug. 11.

The paintings had been on display and offered for sale.
