Arrest after Frederick police chase
Frederick police have arrested a man they say fled after officers tried to pull him over.
Thirty-one-year-old Douglas Smith has been charged with vehicle theft, fleeing and eluding and other offenses.
Police say late Wednesday, officers saw a vehicle leaving Frederick Memorial Hospital that didn't have working tail lights. Officers tried to get the driver to pull over, but he did not stop.
Police say after a short pursuit, the car hit a traffic signal support pole and a barricade. There were no injuries.
