Police: Mom left girl to use heroin

A Virginia woman is accused of leaving her 3-year-old daughter in a car outside a motel in Frederick while she used heroin inside.

Frederick police say officers were called to the motel about 7 a.m. Tuesday, where they found the girl alone in a car, strapped into a car seat.

Her mother, 34-year-old Marian Larman of Mineral, Va., was found inside a motel room, asleep in the bathroom. Apparent heroin and drug paraphernalia was strewn around the room, and police also found what they think was heroin in the car. Police say Larman had checked into the motel about 3 a.m., four hours before her daughter was found.

She's charged with leaving a child unattended in a vehicle, reckless endangerment and drug offenses.

Wow... this article was posted at 8:16 AM today and it is now 10:34AM and no one else has posted a comment... What could that mean? Could it be that all you folks who usually crack on minority drug users have seen Ms. Larman's picture on TV this morning? I feel sorry for the baby and can't imagine leaving a child of any age in a car in the middle of the night, for nearly four hours!!! Outrageously criminal.

If this were SE there would have been tons of negative comments. But this a 34 year old Junkie from Mineral VA? Humm....... makes you wonder who is doing all of the commenting on WP.

My thoughts exactly!! There are so many people that post racist comments on this site that it is so sad. We are in 2010, every race, nation, and community has its bad people. And the come in all colors and from all backgrounds.

One reason, is because the majority of the people residing in DC are from small hick towns. They do not know how it used to be chocolate city.

Yes for sure. They have so much to say about SE, but no one is saying anything negative about Marian Larman. Oh, could it be that she's white!!!!!!!

The focus here is the child and the young mother. As a black man, my heart goes out to this young woman and her baby as it would our young black sisters who find themselves in similar situations. Although the young mothers act was criminal in nature, this young mother is sick and I hope now with her arrest she can find the help that can make her whole again. Misery has no color.

ILuvUS :
If it were you "black man" your picture would be all over the Post, and facing a minimum mandatory sentence under federal guidelines for a Class A drug offense. Once this dies down she will get 6 months probation to be served concurrently with her 6 months in a rehab clinic in Montgomery County MD.
