Va. man files $1M suit against PetSmart after slipping in poop

A Poquoson, Va., man who says he fell after stepping in dog feces at a PetSmart store has filed a $1 million negligence lawsuit against the company.

Robert Holloway alleges in his lawsuit in U.S. District Court that he badly injured his back, struck his head and knocked out four teeth when he slipped in January 2009 at a Newport News PetSmart.

He alleges that PetSmart and its manager should have protected him from a hazardous condition created when they allowed animals to defecate on the floor.

In court documents, Phoenix-based PetSmart denied the negligence allegations.

Knowing how often people file frivolous lawsuits for money, I'd say there is a good chance this guy is full of crap.

Another frivolous lawsuit, we NEED TORT REFORM!!! PetSmart should sue him for lost productivity due to his negligence for not looking where he walks.

Where is the incident report ?? how do you knock out your teeth and hit your head at the same time... if that happened, 911 would have been called. This is a waste of peoples time. I too agree that petSmart should counter sue him..... I bet you he will change his tune quick.

If this "gentleman" was in PetSmart, he likely has a pet (shudder at that thought)and would know that animals poop. I hope he landed face-first in it.

It sounds like he hurt his neck. His neck and his back. And I heard he wanted a hundred fifty thousand...but would settle out of court right now for twenty bucks.

Isn't America great? Anyone can sue anyone else for anything at all - even not looking to see if there's poop on the ground.
